Day Trip

Avila

So this is my day trip to Avila, the city known for its town walls. I thought that the place is well preserved, through unknowingly I went on renfair, so it was a lot more crowded than usual. It is here where I realized that Spanish Museums seems to be a lot more localized, Avila was a pretty cool trip through, I slowly walked the castle walls and observe the city.

RenFair

To be honest I am not famillar enough to fully take advantage of the event, however walking through the booth feels a little like walking through history. I saw dragons and knights, as well as archery booth. I think I made a few realization here, firstly being that English is not really spoken outside of Madrid. So if I want to continue visiting small towns, I need to start learning some Spanish. I did have some nice meat, it is pretty damn good.

Avila Castle Walls

Walking upon what Avila is known for is both a magical and tiring experience. Most of the highlight comes from the scenery from the walls. Seeing the rivers from this vantage point feels special especially as I walk the half crumbling stairs that I almost did not want to leave at the end. I also saw what I thought was Spencer Mansion(I found out later it is probably the Seminary). For the price it is absolutely worth it.

Mirador entrada Ávila

Since it is kinda hard to look at Avila walls on them, I took a trip to a nice vantage point, I was worried I wont arrive in time for the return train and it end up being a close call. Seeing Avila from a distance away the walls looks beautiful guarding the city. It is amazing how long it survived
