The end
With this it marks the end of my travelling, I think as I return to Singapore I learn a lot of things about myself. On post reflection, I think there is an issue with the final trip, I am unsure what is the cause but I fear that the final traveling was done with loving the idea of what travelling brings instead of what it actually gives me. You might have noticed that a lot of these entries are consolidated in comparsion to the earlier one in Italy where I have more things to write. These are the possible hypothesis I have come up with
Travel Fatigue
It is possible that due to extensively travelling to savour everything I have became tired and less attentive, as I have been away for a very long time. Maybe the novelty is no longer there. I feel that this is unlikely as during the trip itself it was enjoyable, it is just that I did not have any long impression nor did the trip change me.
Lack of interest
In comparsion to the earlier trip, for this trip I was essentially looking at the cheapest ticket, and the cheapest trip I can have which is how I ended in eastern europe. As a result I donโt really know a lot about these nations before visiting. I believe there is a possibility that this is the truth.
Lack of planning
To be honest I was kinda hacking it for my plan, I google map what I want to visit AT THE HOTEL. In fact I believe I may have spend more time figuring out where to visit rather than resting at the hotel. It is equally likely the poor planning resulted in this. In contrast with Italy or Spain where I already know I want to see the colossum, or I want to know more about the three kingdom and the muslim influence, I am flying blind here. I feel this might have contributed to the fatique as well.
Lack of interest in travelling
Maybe, just maybe I actually dont like travelling. I buy what people tell me, that travelling give me perspecitve, to give me a understanding of their culture. But maybe I donโt care much of the culture. I do not feel this is likely because I think I was engaged WHEN reading. Yet I do not remember anything after leaving. I certainly developed an intrest in the nation, so I feel there is some interest.
Why did I want to travel?
To go to the start, the reason why I wanted to go on an exchange is because I felt that I am stagnating in Singapore, every day feels the same, as I play video games every weekend and it felt like I am wasting my life away.
Was the exchange sucessful
Well I am writing 8 months from now, I have started this blog since then, I have also become more active in volunteering and actually planning events. I think I am more willing to take risk. It is just that for my next trip I donโt want it to be something I regret. Maybe if I read up on the destination I will enjoy more? I have been slacking off with my books after all.
